EnVyUs have won the ELEAGUE Group F final 2-0 over Virtus.pro (16-11 on Train and 16-8 on Cache) and advance to the playoffs of the $1.4 million tournament.
The sixth week of televised finals at Turner's $1.4 million ELEAGUE tournament was between two top ten teams, Virtus.pro and Envy, with the two having a 18-12 head-to-head record between each other that favoured EnVyUs (including both online and offline matches).
The first map was Train, the Polish side's pick, and it was the Poles who got off to an early start on their CT side as Paweł "byali" Bieliński picked up a triple kill on the pistolround and Jarosław "pashaBiceps" Jarząbkowski secured an anti-eco quad kill on the second round that included a knife kill.
EnVyUs finally reversed the tide on the eighth round as Dan "apEX" Madesclaire picked up two AK entries to put a round on the board for nV, making the score 7-1 with VP leading. The next round saw French AWPer Kenny "kennyS" Schrub secure three kills with his signature weapon and the first half suddenly narrowed in score as nV began to challenge more successfully; the half ultimately ended 9-6 for the Poles.
A much more confident DEVIL was on display in the Group F final
Veteran Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas injected more hope into the Virtus.pro project with a one-versus-three clutch in the second pistolround in an afterplant situation. The Poles picked up the first anti-eco to advance to 11-6 but they were then brought down by a EnVyUs pistolbuy on the eighteenth round that reset their fragile economy.
EnVyUs redefined the meaning of "win-out" after this moment, and with kennyS in extremely fine form and Timothée "DEVIL" Démolon not far behind, the French team claimed nine rounds in a row after their pistolbuy win and closed out the first map 16-11.
The second map was Cache and two early picks by Nathan "NBK-" Schmitt as a Terrorist on the first pistolround seemed to seal the deal until TaZ answered back with a quick three kills while hiding in sunroom; however DEVIL again helped his team secure the round and put nV in the lead.
pashaBiceps was VP's most solid player on Train and on Cache
The French team were clearly on a different page compared to Virtus.pro and ran ahead to a dominant 10-0 lead on their T-side until pashaBiceps's double kill on the eleventh round finally gave the Poles their first round on the second map. Despite a mini-resurgence from VP, the half finished 11-4 in nV's favour.
Vincent "Happy" Schopenhauer and his team anti-stratted a Virtus.pro early B-site hit and the selfsame player garnered three USP kills to secure the second pistolround for the French team. EnVyUs moved ahead to a 14-4 score before a quad kill from pashaBiceps put some wind in the Poles' sails.
The following round saw a five-on-five team fight from the two teams at Mid and EnVyUs seemingly looked weaker with kennyS left in a one-versus-two and with not much information, yet the AWPer still somehow won the round and took match point.
Virtus.pro managed to win a few more rounds in a last stand scenario, but a EnVyUs pistolbuy on the 24th round saw DEVIL secure two Five-Seven kills in A main and help his team close out the second map 16-8.
